BOOK FAIRY PUPPET

Guiding the reading journey between chapter books and young adult

Genre detail: Fiction with Multiple Narrators

Books with multiple narrators challenge readers to keep a variety of perspectives and plot points in mind while they read.

It’s a perfect chance to strengthen their comprehension skills! The characters in the books I’ve chosen are particularly juxtaposed to each other so that discussion about the characters can be summed up in the question starter, “Yes, but what did (opposite character) think about (same plot point)?”

Multiple narrators are also a great way to practice social emotional learning as a way to talk about student behavior without using students in the class. Because of Mr. Terupt by Rob Buyea is particularly well suited for this.
